Facing slides, double slides and facing heads

Facing slides, double slides and facing heads

Technical overview

Facing heads are used for facing, grooving and external turning at medium to high speeds, from roughing to final machining of complex contours. They can be fitted to rotary indexing machines, machining centres, transfer lines and special-purpose machines.
The parallel arrangement of two opposing slides provides favourable centrifugal-force conditions. A wedge-hook mechanism generates the stroke, while adjustable or fixed stops limit the facing stroke.
All parts are made from nitriding steel. Their high surface hardness provides excellent wear resistance, together with good sliding properties.
