Sliding-jaw mandrels
Technical overview
Sliding-jaw mandrels, also known as segment expansion mandrels, are not standard catalogue products. They must be designed individually for the requirements of each clamping task.
Working closely with our customers, we design sliding-jaw mandrels or combinations of mandrel centring and face clamping. We can draw on various basic models, presented below.
New manufacturing processes allow us to offer sliding-jaw mandrels down to a diameter of 12 mm. Compared with sleeve expansion mandrels, they provide a considerably larger clamping stroke.
The sliding jaws have a positive return. We have produced mandrels with one to six jaws, in round or rectangular forms. We can also manufacture the quill and cylinder for your mandrel.
